I have had a really long weekend and not in a good way...

Just when I think I can't handle one more thing - there it is...
I'm still struggling with the fact that I'm on unemployment, it's still hard to deal with the "not take it personal" that you got laid off from a job that you worked so hard at and loved...
Financially right now is tough and I know it's that way for a lot of people right now..
It still doesn't make it any easier when I have to tell my child no, because I know that we can't afford it.
As far as my husband right now...Lord knows I love him but that's still not taking away the urge I have to run him over with my car...
(Wouldn't really! Just nice to imagine...)
Oh yeah, I'm still hungry...and why do I torture myself to be thin?? Who are "they" that decided I would be a prettier person at a smaller size???

Anyway enough of my pity party...I found this quote on the internet, so I'm going to try to have a better attidude...

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
-- Melody Beattie

Here goes,

I'm thankful that I have a Father in Heaven that I can kneel down to and pray in times of need and KNOW that He is there.

I'm thankful for my husband and my children, that they are all healthy and love me and know how much they are loved by me.

I'm thankful for the home we do have and the payment that we struggled to make but DID make.

I'm thankful that I am struggling with money right now, therefore can't afford to go to get a Chocolate Shake from Chick Fil A that I'll just regret later
Ok...maybe I'm not so thankful for the last one :)

  1. Thanks for the comments:) I'm sorry you're going through a rough time. We have sooooo been there, countless times. The Lord has never ever let us down, despite our lack of faith, and I know He's got you guys covered!

  2. What a great quote! So true. Good for you for being able to focus on the things you're thankful for!

  3. Love th quote. I have had such a different outlook on life since I lost my little brother 3 1/2 years ago. I know that everything does happen for a reason, even if for the love of me I have no idea what that reason could possibly be. I know that God doesn't put more on us than we can take, even if WE think we are at the breaking point. I also know that he does not lead us to what he cannot lead us through. I will keep you and your family, which is adorable may I add, in my prayers for peace of mind, contentment of self, and strength! You are teaching your children so many good lessons right now through all of this!

  4. Hang in there! God has plan, we make not like it, but I believe it makes us stronger in the end (you know, all that "hangin' in there" is good for your strength!)
Also, giggled out loud about "running him over with the car" in reference to your hubby!

  5. I think things are really tight for a lot of people right now... You feel like running your husband over sometimes too? "makes me feel a little better" LOL and the milkshake that will end up being a blessing on truth time Thursday!!
