Marriage Counselling

Well, John is back. We've decided to go to marriage counselling. I hope and pray for our sakes and our children's sake that this works. It's going to be hard for me. I've got a little bit of a complex about sitting in front of a stranger - divulging all of my inner most thoughts and them judging guiding me on how to fix it - but for my family, I would do anything :)

  1. That sounds like a good idea. My friend did marriage counseling and swears by it. I wish you luck. I don't like the idea of counseling myself, I would do it for my marriage. You both may gain more prospective on your situation.

i hope you guys find a great counselor. i think just the fact that you both are willing to go is the first step. hang in there!

  4. Hi Jennifer. I came over because you commented on my boy post. And I just wanted to thank you...but your blog seems vaguely familiar like I may have been over here...probably on a Thursday from one of Mama Kat's assignments.

Anyway, I just wanted to encourage you with the counseling. Sister, it's worth it. I've been to a counselor and I was a good manipulator. I would leave there knowing their whole life story. I didn't think they could offer me anything.

But one day (YEARS later and much damage done to myself and those around me) I wised up and realized that I could use the help that was being offered. And it went well. I have never had marriage counseling...although we have gone to talk to our pastor when there have been things we couldnt handle on our own about our family.

They won't judge and they've heard it all. Be open to the experience.

It's going to be hard work to repair your marriage...I dont know what's going on, but I know that.

In the end IT IS WORTH IT. I'll be praying for you. Please visit my blog and update me occasionally.

  6. Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog. Kids are the best prescription when we need a good laugh. Sorry to hear that things are tough for you right now. I have been in your position, except my husband didn't come back and wasn't willing to do counseling. So take advantage of this opportunity and give it your all. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
